Guilty Plea in Montco Grandson's Abuse-of-Corpse Case

By Brad Segall

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- A 21-year-old Plymouth Meeting man has admitted in Montgomery County Court that he helped his father dump his murdered grandfather's body in the Poconos earlier this summer, then tried to cover up the crime.

David St. Onge Jr. didn't kill his grandfather, but he did tell the judge that he had an agreement with his father to dispose of the body and then clean up the house to cover up evidence.

He pleaded guilty to abuse of a corpse, lying to police, and tampering with evidence.  He faces a maximum of ten years in jail.

Prosecutor Lauren McNulty would not speculate on what sentence they'll ask for, other than saying the charges are significant.

"Past that, there are some reports that are going to be ordered, and the commonwealth doesn't want to say a specific number or what-have-you without seeing all the information that will be relevant at sentencing, which is just not prepared yet," she told KYW Newsradio this morning.

St. Onge Jr. told the court he helped his father, who is charged with the murder, wrap the body of Jack St. Onge in tarps with duct tape, then dump the body over an embankment.

The young man still faces theft charges for using his grandfather's credit cards.
