Somber Mood At First Council Rock Football Game Since 3 Students Killed In Crash

HOLLAND, Pa. (CBS) - After a week of losses, Council Rock South High School finally had a win. Their first football game of the year was a success despite the sadness felt in the stands with three big fans missing.
Shamus Digney, Cullen Keffer and Ryan Lesher were killed in a crash in Paupak Township last weekend after the SUV they were riding in rolled over. Police say a 15 year old was driving.
"It brings up their absence more they were all really good kids and they'd be up in the stands cheering and they're not," said Council Rock South parent, Noel Carter.
A moment of silence was held in the sophomores' honor, then the game began after several rain delays.
Parents say some of the players came straight from one of the burials to the field.
"I was proud of the way he handled himself," said Carter of his son who is a Freshman with the team.
For some, support came in the form of the opposing team. Bensalem High School cheerleaders gave Council Rock South girls ribbons to show their condolences.
"Still a lot of heart break and a lot of uncertainty but it's getting better," said Carter.
Students say the game was a much needed pick me up after a difficult week.
