Labor Day Showers & Storms

By Justin Drabick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It may be the unofficial end to the summer season, but there will be plenty of summer weather to continue for the first week of September. A very warm and humid air mass will remain in the place across the Delaware Valley for the next few days.

Expect partial sunshine for Labor Day with more chances for scattered showers and storms.  The best chance for some showers and storms will be in the afternoon, and it will be very warm and humid with highs near 90.

Temperatures will be even hotter on Tuesday along with very humid conditions.  Skies will be partly sunny with high sin the low 90s but it may feel like the upper 90s with the humidity.  There will be another chance of some showers and storms Tuesday night, as a cold front approaches.

Behind that front, less humid conditions return for Wednesday with mostly sunny skies.  However, high temperatures will remain well above average with highs in the upper 80s.  The very warm air mass will remain in place through the end of the week with highs in the upper 80s to near 90.
