King Predicts Eagles To Finish As No. 1 Seed In NFC, Prisco Predicts 11-5

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- With the NFL set to begin a week from today, we can all taste it. We're so close to another NFL season! So what's that mean? Predictions galore!

The Eagles are coming off an impressive 10-6 season under first-year head coach Chip Kelly, and expectations are high heading into the 2014 season. In a weak NFC East division, many fans expect the Eagles to be back in the postseason.

Sports Illustrated's Peter King joined Colin Cowherd's ESPN Radio show earlier this week, and they both raved about the Eagles.

"I think Philadelphia, if you look at the rest of that division, could absolutely run away with it Peter," Cowherd said.

"I think Philadelphia's going to win home field in the NFC," King said. "I agree with you and I think the NFC East is down. And even though you look at their schedule and they have a tough schedule, I think that they'll benefit by being in that division this year. It's not often you could say that, it's probably been years since you could say. But I think they are significantly better than anybody there," King said.

CBS Sports' Pete Prisco released, what is becoming, his annual "Predicting Every NFL Game" column on Thursday. Prisco predicted the Eagles to go finish 11-5, 5-1 in the NFC East, with losses to the Colts, 49ers, Cardinals, Packers, and Giants.

Prisco has the Eagles reaching the playoffs after winning the NFC East, but losing to the Seahawks in the wild-card round of the playoffs.
