Wednesday's Child:   Jessica

By Larry Kane
Produced by Timothy McLaughlin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Fourteen-year-old Jessica has a big heart.  She loves animals -- even the scaly ones, she says.

"I'm good with snakes, because when I was a baby a snake actually wrapped around my neck.  But it didn't tighten.  It was my pet snake and it always loved to lay around my neck."

She wants to volunteer at an animal shelter.

Right now, she volunteers at a nursing home.

"I help out in the kitchen, in the dining room -- anything that they need me to do.  It's very fun doing it.  I really enjoy it, and I love helping people," she says.

She also loves cooking.  And she describes herself as Justin Bieber's biggest fan.

More than anything, she says, she wants a forever family.

"Just as long as I get a family to call my own.  Someone that I could call my own and someone that will sit there and love me and say, 'Oh, I love you.'"

Plus, she adds, she'd love to have sisters.
