PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The Eagles will be wearing their alternate black uniforms when they take on the Patriots in the second preseason game on Friday night. They will be wearing those black jerseys into the 2014 regular season as well in place of the green ones.

No the team has not dropped midnight green for black.

The Eagles are upgrading their uniforms for the 2014 season to take advantage of Nike’s latest technology. According to Nike, the NFL Nike Elite 51 fabrication will provide NFL teams with uniforms that are more body contoured and help to amplify speed.

The Eagles are still awaiting their upgraded green uniforms. The white and black jerseys are done, but midnight green will take a little longer because the color is considered a custom color.
