WILMINGTON, DE – The Delaware 87ers will reveal a new team mascot with a special ceremony at the Brandywine Zoo in Wilmington, DE on Thursday, August 21.

87ers Chief Operating Officer Larry Meli and President Aaron Moszer will introduce the first mascot in franchise history at a press conference beginning at 7:00 pm inside the zoo gates.

"We are extremely excited to be adding a team mascot.  The Sevens continue to prioritize a family-friendly environment and this addition further strengthens our options," said Moszer. "We're looking forward to getting the newest member of our family into the community and begin entertaining our fans."

"This mascot is important to our identity and to our ability to connect with people," said Meli.  "While we can't tell you who or what it is yet, know that this will add another exciting dimension to the Delaware 87ers.  The entire Sevens and Philadelphia 76ers family is extremely thankful to the Brandywine Zoo for providing a venue to make this announcement memorable."

"I can't think of a better place to unveil the 87ers new mascot than at the Brandywine Zoo," said Bill Montgomery, Executive Director of the Delaware Zoological Society that supports the Brandywine Zoo.  "We are very pleased to host this fun, family event and we value our partnership with the Sevens."
