Area Start Up Delivers Dinner Ingredients To Your Door

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Parents' busy schedules sometimes make it hard to put a healthy family dinner on the table every night. An area start-up business wants to change that.

You pick what you want to make for dinner on Fitly's website. Like sauteed pork and pear dinner salad, or quinoa and corn griddle cake with black bean salsa.

All of the ingredients are delivered to your home, ready to be cooked. The recipe and nutritional information are provided.

"It's probably one of the most convenient services and best ways to eat healthy without having to spend a lot of money or sacrifice your health as a consumer," said Fitly founder Anthony Ortiz.

He says each recipe makes four servings. More can be added, and costs as low as $5.99 per plate.

"There is a minimum of 8 servings that you have to choose, so you can actually select two recipes that you would cook, two recipes of four servings each," he said.

The start-up is planning to expand its delivery area, but right now it mainly serves Bucks County and Center City.
