A Taste Of Autumn Tonight And Tomorrow
By Kate Bilo
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Another storm system, another round of frequent and dangerous lightning to contend with! That was the case again last night as a strong cold front tore across the Midwest and Northeast. That same system is responsible for a tornado this morning in Revere, MA, a highly populated area just a few miles north of Boston.
Our severe threat has ended, but today has been a day of transition as much cooler, drier air moves in from the north and west. A gusty breeze this evening and a few scattered showers will signify the arrival of the cooler air. Tonight and tomorrow will feel downright autumnal for this time of year, with overnight lows in many spots diving into the 50’s and highs tomorrow struggling to reach 80!
Unlike last week with just a one-day cool-down, this pleasant weather will last for much of the work week, with temperatures rebounding to the mid-80’s Wednesday through Saturday, but the weather staying generally dry and pleasant into the upcoming weekend. No more middle-of-the-night thunderboomers, at least for a little while!
