Ocean County Woman To Share $20 Million Lottery Jackpot With 19 Family Members

By Syma Chowdhry

BEACHWOOD, N.J., (CBS) --  A New Jersey woman spends $1 -- and wins $20 million!

What she did next is even more unbelievable.

"I said, 'I think I won the lottery!' and that was it," Sigrid Endreson said.

Endreson is full of emotion after winning $20 million.

She bought a winning Pick-6 ticket last month, but didn't check it for two weeks.

"She had really no idea what it was worth and she turned it in, one teller looks at before you know and there are three tellers and they call someone else over," lottery winner Jonas Endreson said.

After learning she won, Sigrid shared the news, and the money, with her very large family.

The Endreson family included 19 children.

The surviving 17 siblings, their niece and two nephews will share the winnings.

Some of them are still rebuilding from Superstorm Sandy.

"I was able to redo my house and help my family, and my brothers and quite fortunate, I just feel so lucky," John Endreson said.

Sigrid bought her ticket at a 7-11 in Lacey Township. The store owner received $10,000 for selling the winning ticket. He says his store has some good luck.

"Cash 5 of $1.5 million, we had a $1 million scratch off ticket, we had $250,000 on a Powerball and this was a big one," store owner Manny Chaudhari said.

Chaudhari says because they've sold four winning tickets, lottery sales are up 20 percent at his store.

"More people are coming in the store so I was excited," Chaudhari  said.

It seems as though Ocean County is lucky with lottery.

Last year, a group dubbed the "Ocean's 16" won a nearly $450 million Powerball jackpot.

(Chowdhry:) Do you think Ocean County is pretty lucky?

"They certainly are and this could be the next winning ticket," Cathy of Lacey Township said.

Now folks are hoping this store will help them win big, like the Endreson family did.

"Usually the people who win it are the ones who deserve it," Susan Toms of Lacey Township said.

The Endreson family would agree.
