Heat Wave, Take Two!

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- For the second time in two weeks, another heat wave is expected. Tuesday will be the second of the three consecutive 90 degree days needed to qualify for a heat wave. With highs in the low 90s and elevated dew points, its going to feel uncomfortable outside; the sun will be shining for most of the day, so a pool or beach day would certainly help! Just keep an eye to the sky later in the afternoon, as thunderstorms will begin firing to the north and west and could impact your plans.

Tomorrow showers and storms become more numerous as a slow moving cold front moves through. With the front's passage, the heat and humidity will break and the sun will feel less oppressive towards the second half of the week.

The weekend is looking mainly good, with the heat and humidity beginning to creep back into the picture on Sunday.

Today In Weather History:
1950 - The town of York, NE, was deluged with 13.15 inches of rain in 24 hours to establish a state record.
