Malvern Music Teacher Accused Of Sexually Abusing 3 Six-Year-Old Children

By Justin Udo and Todd Quinones

MALVERN, Pa., (CBS) -- A Chester County music teacher is under arrest and being charged with sexually abusing three of his students.

Investigators tell CBS 3 all of the alleged abuse happened inside The Malvern School of Music.

There is also concern there could be more potential victims.

Anton Fomin was a highly respected piano teacher, who had the trust of parents.

But investigators contend the 44-year-old used that trust as a way to get parents to leave their six-year-old children alone with him.

"During those lessons where he had one on one individual contact with the children he would touch them inappropriately, he would expose himself to them, and he would expose images on his computer to them," Chester County First Assistant District Attorney Michael Noone said.

No one answered the door where Fomin lives with his wife in East Pikeland Township.

It's also where he taught private lessons at his own "Kimberton School Of Music."

Court documents indicate a search warrant of the home turned up Fomin's computer which contained the kind of images of nude children he allegedly showed his victims.

"They recovered his computer from his home and the computer had images of nude children consistent with what the children had reported they were shown by the defendant during music lessons," Noone said.

Investigators say the three alleged victims, including two girls and a boy, are all six-years-old.

All of them were students of the Malvern School of Music on East King Street in Malvern.

Administrators fired Fomin shortly after the investigation began on June 4th, that's when a six-year-old student told her parent Fomin allegedly touched her private parts during a lesson.

"I was shocked and a degree of distraught and sad that is hard for me to put words to, which is still how I feel. My heart goes out to the alleged victims," Malvern School of Music owner Dave Stoltzfus said.

Prosecutors say Fomin, who is originally from Russia was establishing a clear pattern of grooming the six-year-olds.

Investigators are trying to determine if other current and former students may have been fondled.

That is why prosecutors are urging parents of Fomin's students to talk to their children, and if they hear anything suspicious to call police immediately.

On Thursday, Fomin was charged with attempted aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors and other charges.

Fomin is locked up inside the Chester County Prison on $300,000 cash bail.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Chester County Detective James Ciliberto at 610-344-6866.
