PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Renfrew Center will open a facility in Chicago this fall to help women battle their eating disorders.
Renfrew Center in Philadelphia has been helping women battle food related issues since 1985. Founder, Sam Menaged says there are currently facilities in 12 states and construction is underway to open an outpatient facility in Chicago.
“We’ll be opening a day treatment program where people will come five days a week or intensive outpatient program where they might come three evenings a week as step down form the more intense treatment of a more intensive residential program but helps them adapt to their environment.”
He says over the years, Renfrew has helped more than 65,000 women battle such eating disorders as anorexia and bulimia. He adds the center will continue to expand its reach to the west.
