Chris Christie Says He’d Rather Have Dinner With Tony Romo Than President Obama

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — New Jersey Governor Chris Christie graciously joined the WIP Morning Show on Monday, in-studio, for a lighthearted hour conversation where Christie talked candidly, told stories and even took phone calls.

When WIP Morning Show host Angelo Cataldi asked Christie who he would rather go to dinner with between President Obama, Bruce Springsteen and Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Christie said that President Obama would be his third choice.

“Springsteen,” Christie, who said he has been to 132 Springsteen shows, quickly answered. “I’ve had dinner with the President, I’ve never had dinner with Bruce. By the way, the President came in third. I’d go with Romo before the President. Again, I’ve had dinner with the President. I’ve never had dinner with Romo.”

Christie, who is admittedly a Cowboys fan, said “Giants fans hate me and Eagles fans hate me,” told the story of when Jerry Jones called him.

“The great thing was, right after, so that got out and it got national press that I was a Cowboys fan running for Governor of New Jersey and the next day, I got a call from Jerry Jones,” Christie explained, who has sat in Jones’ box during Cowboys games.

The Sixers have filed an application for a site along the New Jersey waterfront in Camden, looking to build a practice facility there. Christie spoke about that as well.

“We’re very happy that it appears they’re going to move their practice facility and offices over to Camden and it’s going to be a regional situation,” Christie said. “The Jets and Giants are called New York, but they do everything in New Jersey. They have their offices there, they have their practice facilities there, and obviously they play their games there. I don’t see that happening with the Sixers. I think the Sixers are a Philadelphia team and they’ll play in Philadelphia, but if they practice and spend a little time with their South Jersey fans, that’s not bad.”
