WEATHER BLOG: Unsettled Week Ahead

By Justin Drabick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - After a dry and pleasant weekend, the weather pattern will turn more active with shower and storm chances returning.

An area of low pressure will track into the region overnight and on Monday, bringing showers and possible thunderstorms at anytime overnight and during the day on Monday.

A frontal boundary will then stall out on Tuesday over the region, keeping the chance for more showers and thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon.

Wednesday will be a bit drier as we will be between two storm systems but a shower or storm is still possible.  The next storm will slowly move through the Northeast on Thursday and Friday keeping the chance for more showers and storms each day.

The comfortable air mass that has been in place over the weekend will also be moving out.  Humidity levels will begin to increase on Monday and remain on the high end through the week.  This will help fuel any showers and storms with some possible heavy downpours.

High temperatures will remain at or slight above average this week in the low to mid 80s.
