Former Head Of Montgomery County Courthouse Law Library Pleads In Misuse Of Funds
NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- The former head of the Montgomery County Courthouse law library has pleaded guilty to misuse of funds.
Sixty-two-year-old Bruce Piscadlo of Howell, New Jersey entered an open plea Wednesday to a felony theft charge and a misdemeanor count of misapplication of entrusted property.
Other charges including theft by deception, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy are to be dismissed at sentencing.
Prosecutors said Piscadlo used thousands of dollars in taxpayer money to buy dozens of items including computers, laptops and printers.
The (Doylestown) Intelligencer reports that during a March hearing Piscadlo told a reporter that he had been drinking heavily during the period when the thefts occurred.
Officials said an investigation began after an audit. Piscadlo retired from the law library at the end of 2012.
