Wildwood Named No. 1 On List Of 'Best Beach Boardwalks' In U.S.
WILDWOOD, N.J., (CBS) -- A family-travel website has named a Jersey Shore town's boardwalk the best in the United States.
Wildwood's Boardwalk is ranked No. 1 on Family Vacation Critic's 12 Best Beach Boardwalks list for 2014.
Family Vacation Critic, a subsidiary of TripAdvisor, says "We keep Wildwood on our list of favorite boardwalks because it's just so family-friendly and our kids love it!"
In claiming the top spot, Family Vacation Critic cited the more than 100 rides and attractions available along the two-mile boardwalk in addition to the shopping and dining.
The site reads, "The traditional boardwalk is home to Morey's Pier's, which operates three different amusement parks directly on the pier: Mariner's Landing Pier, Adventure Pier and Surfside Pier. The amusements operator also operates Ocean Oasis Waterpark & Beach Club and Raging Waters Waterpark for water fun directly off one of the Shore's best beaches."
Wildwood beat out 11 other boardwalks across the country for the No. 1 spot including Santa Monica Pier, Calif., Coney Island, N.Y., and Ocean City, Md.
