Tips For Lowering Lipids

By Dr. Brian McDonough, Medical Editor

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – If you want to lower your lipids through the diet the number one thing you can do is reduce your intake of saturated fats or trans fats.

Other things that can help are adding tree nuts to your diet and, if possible, turning to a Mediterranean diet.

Increasing omega three fatty acids, limiting alcoholic drinks and adding fiber to the diet help as well.

I don’t think I am telling you things that you do not know but the key is that these common sense steps can make a big difference
