Dîner En Blanc To Return To Philadelphia In Summer 2014

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Dîner en Blanc, an impromptu dinner soiree by way of Paris, is coming to Philadelphia for a third year.

The pop-up al fresco event is set to return for 2014, and the wait list officially opened today.

The 2014 date is set to be released in June, but the location of the event will remain a secret until the day of the dinner.

Last year, thousands signed up for the all-white dinner party, which eventually happened at JFK Bridge at 30th Street Station (See Previous Story). Diners dressed in white and brought their own chairs, tables, food and wine and were treated to an evening of food and live music.

The wait list does not guarantee a spot, but it does ensure that wait list members will be notified when slots for the event go on sale in early summer. Past registered members of Dîner en Blanc automatically will receive notice of registration going on sale.

Past and potential guests are invited to an official preview party on Wednesday, June 4th at Williams-Sonoma in the Bellevue, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. No RSVP is required for the preview event.

Dîner en Blanc originated in Paris in 1988, and its popularity quickly grew. In 2012, Philadelphia hosted its first installation of the event, which drew more than 1,000 participants dressed in white to the Swann Fountain in Logan Circle.
