UPDATE: Amtrak Service Resumes Between Washington And Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  Amtrak Acela Express and Northeast Regional service has resumed between Washington and Philadelphia.

Passengers should expect congestion-related delays through the evening due to earlier police activity just north of Washington Union Station.

Further details were not immediately available.

Passengers with travel plans can confirm their train's status, change their plans or review refund information by using Amtrak.com, smartphone apps or by calling 800-USA-RAIL. Service Alerts, Passenger Notices and other announcements are posted at Amtrak.com/alerts.
