Sophomore Angela Sperlunto and Junior Noa Boonin placed sixth out of 20 in the women's lightweight varsity double at 10:30 a.m.  They will advance to the semi-final at 5:55 p.m.

"We're going to come home, they'll get their hair done, and then head back to the Schuylkill to race at 5:55 p.m.," says Angela's mother Aurora Sperlunto.

She says the hair stylist is going to wait at her house for the team to come back after the race for final touch-ups.

"Angela said to me, why can't I just bring my gown to the river, they have porta-potties, I can get changed there," says her mother. "But I'll drive them home in between."

In addition to two races today, the girls will also be facing the heavy rain in the forecast.

"It's going to be a crazy, busy day, but it's going to be a lot of fun," says Angela's mother.

The prom starts at 8 p.m.
