Berks County Teen Dies On Senior Trip To Grenada

SPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- A Berks County teen who was days away from graduating from high school died while on a senior trip to Grenada.

According to an obituary posted on the Groff-High-Eckenroth Funeral Home website, Jared Lee Gehman, 17, drowned on May 8th while snorkeling at Grand Anse Beach in Grenada with his classmates on their senior class trip.

Jared attended Terre Hill Mennonite High School and was set to graduate later this month.

He is survived by his parents, an older sister and two younger brothers.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday followed by a funeral on Thursday.
