WEATHER BLOG: Warm Start To Week, Then Unsettled

By Justin Drabick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Pleasant conditions were found all across the Delaware Valley on Mother's Day with high temperatures in the upper 70s to around 80.

If you like the June-like conditions, you will enjoy the weather on Monday.  The warmer than average air mass will continue for the start of the work week.  Stronger southwesterly winds will bring in warmer temperatures on Monday with highs in the mid 80s.  Skies will be partly sunny though the day with a shower or storm possible at night.

A warm front will then begin to move southward as a cold front on Tuesday.  If they front remains far enough to the north initially, temperatures will reach the lower 80s, then fall through the day as the front passes southward.  There will be a chance for a shower or storm on Tuesday with the front nearby.

As the front passes, easterly winds will develop and bring in cooler air off the ocean.  Expect more clouds around on Wednesday with some showers or drizzle possible and highs only in the 60s to near 70.

The front will then move back north as a warm front on Thursday.  High temperatures return to the upper 70s with some shower and storm chances.  A better chance for some steadier showers will arrive Thursday night into Friday morning as a cold front slides through the Delaware Valley.  Drier weather returns later on Friday into the weekend.
