A Timely Talk With Your Teens

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - We are heading into a very happy time of year but a potentially deadly time of year as well. It is the combination of prom season and the return home of college students to their families.

It is easy to figure out the happy side of the equation and certainly something to be enjoyed as families embrace the growth and social development of their adolescents and young adults. But the influence of alcohol and its impact on motor vehicle accidents can't be ignored.

Take time to talk with your kids and be vigilant about the need to make certain that those returning from college do not drink and drive. The good news is that this generation is far more aware of the risks of drinking and driving than previous generations.
