2 Cops Injured After Pursuing Suspect In Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (CBS) – Two cops suffered injuries after a police pursuit Friday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m. Allentown police picked up pursuit of a suspect who was being sought on drug charges in Whitehall Township.

The chase was near the 500 block of Linden Street when a bicycle police officer was hit by the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspect’s car then crashed into a cop car while backing up and the police officer’s vehicle subsequently crashed into a telephone pole.

The suspect took off running, but was quickly caught.

The two cops sustained some injuries and were taken away by ambulance for observation.

The officers are believed to not have suffered any serious injuries.
