The social network has also teamed up with Storyful to launch FB Newswire.

The service would aggregate content shared publicly on Facebook by people on the front lines of major events.

The new Facebook page will be updated in real-time with photos, videos, and status updates on various topics, including breaking news, entertainment, and sports.

The posts will also be shared on a dedicated Twitter account.

Newswire is part of Facebook's effort to market itself to journalists as a news-gathering tool.

Instagram has made photo and video discovery on its app a more personal experience.

The company has tweaked the algorithm that determines what posts appear under the app's "Explore" tab.

Now the tab displays photos and videos specifically suggested for each user, not just posts that are popular among all Instagram users.
