Police Release Sketch Of Suspect Who Stabbed A Chesterfield Man In His Own Garage

CHESTERFIELD Twp., NJ (CBS) – Police are investigating an aggravated assault that occurred on Galestown Road in Chesterfield Tuesday morning.

The victim had just arrived back home after dropping his children off at the bus stop, when he was confronted by a suspect in his garage.

During a confrontation, the suspect stabbed the victim in his abdomen and fled the scene on foot.

Neighbor Joe LaCada says, "It's scary when you think about it. I grew up in Trenton and you hear about this stuff all of the time, but you come out here and think it's safe, but it's not."

The victim was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center. He was treated and released.

Police say the suspect is a white or Hispanic male, approximately 5'10", 160 lbs. with a beard. He was last seen in a dark colored hooded sweatshirt.

Authorities say an investigation is ongoing and they are asking for the public's help in locating the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chesterfield Township Police Department at 609-291-0912.
