Tractor-Trailer Fire Along Rt. 1 In Delaware County Under Investigation

MEDIA, Pa. (CBS) -- A tractor-trailer fire caused major delays on heavily-traveled road in Delaware County early Friday morning.

The fire happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the Media Bypass (Rt. 1) where it goes under the Blue Route.

The driver of tractor-trailer was able to separate the cab from the trailer portion and was able to drive to a safe area.

Investigators say there was nothing flammable inside the tractor-trailer.

As a result of the crash, all northbound lanes of the Media Bypass approaching the Blue Route were closed for about an hour. The lanes were reopened at about 7:30 a.m.

The fire remains under investigation.
