Police: Employee Injured In Robbery At Washington Township Convenience Store

SEWELL, N.J., (CBS) – Police in Washington Township are investigating after an employee was injured during a convenience store robbery Monday afternoon.

It happened shortly before 4 p.m. at the Pantry One Food Mart on Pitman Downer Road in Sewell.

Washington Township Police say officers were advised that the robbery involved three suspects and that two of the suspects were carrying handguns.

Officers arrived on scene and discovered that an employee had been struck in the face and was bleeding heavily. He was taken to Kennedy Hospital for treatment.

The suspects were last seen fleeing the area on foot towards the rear of the store.

Police describe the three suspects they say were involved in the robbery:

Suspect #1: Subject is described as a Black male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black colored "North Face" jacket. The suspect was also wearing sweatpants with the brand "Hollister" printed on them. This suspect is further described as being about 18 to 22-years-old, 5'6 tall with a medium build.

Suspect #2: Subject is believed to be a Black male, wearing a black colored mask, a white colored hooded sweatshirt, and jeans. This suspect had a medium build. This suspect also was in possession of a black colored handgun.

Suspect #3: Subject was believed to be a Black male wearing a black colored mask, a blue colored hooded sweatshirt with the brand "Nike" printed on the front. The suspect was wearing jeans and described as having a larger build. He was also armed with an ash colored handgun.

It's unclear what was taken from the store.
