Famed Philly Confection Makes List Of ‘Highest Calorie Foods In The World’
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia’s Flying Monkey bakery is famous for its Pumpple Cake, but have you ever wondered how many calories are in a slice?
The short answer: You don’t want to know.
According to Urbanspoon, which named the crazy confection to its list of eight of the “Highest Calorie Foods in the World,” just one piece clocks in at more than 1,800 calories. That’s nearly a full day’s worth for many people.
Other foods to make the rankings include the Heart Attack Grill’s mammoth “Quadruple Bypass Burger,” at nearly 10,000 calories (!!!), and Baskin-Robbins’ large Chocolate Oreo Milkshake, which comes in at 2,600.
And if you’re unfamiliar with Flying Monkey’s Pumpple Cake, it’s essentially a pumpkin pie and an apple pie baked inside a chocolate and vanilla cake that’s then slathered with buttercream icing. The dessert was the only cake to make the list.
