Andrew Wiggins Expected To Announce He'll Enter NBA Draft

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The consensus preseason pick to be the first overall selection in the NBA Draft is about to take a step to make that prediction a reality.

Andrew Wiggins will hold a press conference on Monday, and is expected to announce his intention to declare for the NBA Draft, according to ESPN.

Wiggins averaged 17.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game for Kansas this season. Wiggins shot 44.8% overall, and 34.1% from three point range in what will be his only NCAA season.

The Jayhawks were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament in the third round. The team was without starting center Joel Embiid, who was sidelined with a back injury. Embiid is also expected to declare for the draft, and will likely be a top three pick.

ESPN's Chad Ford reports that Wiggins is the top choice for the Sixers, who currently have the second worst record in the NBA, and the second best chance of landing the top pick.
