CAMDEN (CBS) – Camden County Police are on the hunt for a suspect accused of trying to abduct a 14-year-old girl Sunday evening.

Around 6:00 p.m., the young girl was walking out of Dudley Grange Park near the intersection of 32nd Street and Rosedale Avenue when a man got out of a parked vehicle and starting talking to her. The man then grabbed the female by her arm.

The girl was able to break free from his grasp and run away from the scene. The suspect briefly chased her on foot before getting back into his car and following her. The victim continued to run and last saw the car turn onto Westfield Avenue at 32nd Street. The vehicle was last seen headed east on Westfield toward Pennsauken.

Sgt. Janell Simpson says, “The guy chased the suspect, then entered his vehicle and followed her in the vehicle until she lost sight of him.”

The man is described as a black man in his late 30s to early 40s, more than 6’0” tall, heavier than 200 pounds with salt and pepper hair. He was wearing a tan or mustard colored sweatshirt and black jeans with a rip on the right side.

His car is described as an older, black four-door Pontiac, with tinted rear and back windows. It had rust on the passenger side.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the CCPD’s anonymous tip line at 856-757-7042.
