No IDs Yet In NJ Shore Motel Fire That Killed 4

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, N.J. (AP) — Authorities at the New Jersey shore say they're not yet able to release the names of the four people who died in a motel fire in Point Pleasant Beach (see related story).

Autopsies were being conducted Saturday on victims from the fire at a motel that housed some victims of Superstorm Sandy.

But a spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office says it does not plan to release any further information Saturday.

Arson investigators spent a second day combing through the debris to determine what caused the fire, an effort that's expected to take several days.

Saturday's work included draining the motel's outdoor swimming pool, and raking through cinders in second-floor rooms.

A police officer placed flowers that a passerby handed to him on the ground next to the charred motel.
