Police Investigating After Car Strikes 2 Pedestrians, Killing 1, In Atlantic County

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) – Police in Galloway Township are investigating an accident that killed one pedestrian and injured another.

On Wednesday, March 19th around 9:38 a.m., the driver of a 2007 Honda Civic, 41-year-old Sharon Musher, was reportedly traveling north on Leipzig Avenue when she lost control of her vehicle, struck two pedestrians walking southbound on the sidewalk, and then struck a tree.

One of the pedestrians, identified as 67-year-old Elizabeth Torpey, of Galloway, died at the scene. The other, a 73-year-old female identified as Anna Jordan, also of Galloway, was injured and taken to ARMC-Mainland Campus.

The driver was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The roadway was closed for about three hours after the accident.

Galloway Township Police are investigating the crash.
