PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Two early morning car crashes on Saturday sent four people to the hospital and lead to the arrest of one driver for driving while intoxicated and aggravated assault.
In a press release, Gloucester Township Police say they responded to a crash on Kearsley Road shortly after 5am. Officers found an overturned vehicle that left the road and crashed into a wall. The driver, Camden resident Javonna Custis, 21, was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and released.
The second crashed occurred just after 5:30am on Erial Road at the intersection of Blackwood and Clementon Road.
Gloucester Township Police arrived on the scene of a four car collision and found that one of the drivers, Philadelphia resident Craig Giangrante, 26, had failed to stop, colliding with three cars that were stopped at a traffic light.
Two passengers of the vehicles were taken to the hospital for minor injuries and released. None of the drivers that Giangrante collided with was injured.
Giangrante was transported to JFK Hospital Stratford for minor injuries and transported to the Gloucester Township Police Department. He is charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated assault by auto.
He was released pending a court date after posting $5,000 bail.
