High Winds Bring Down Trees, Power Lines Throughout The Region
By Jim Melwert
LANSDOWNE, Pa. (CBS) – What a difference a day makes. After being treated to a high of near 70 degrees on Wednesday, Thursday morning was a different story.
The thermometer reads 20 degrees in Lansdowne, but the 40 mile per hour wind gusts has it feeling closer to zero.
Cindy Rhodes is out delivering papers to a neighbor, and she describes how it felt when she opened her door this morning.
“I felt exactly the way Elliot Abrams explained it, I felt like I was slapped in the face with cold air,” she said. “And I felt like I was almost blown down Lansdowne Avenue.”
And that wind has brought down a huge here along Baltimore Pike, it has Baltimore Pike closed from Lansdwone Avenue to Burmonrt Road, they hoped to be working on this hours ao, but part of the tree is on power lines so they’re still coordinating.
There are several branches and trees down all over the region.
