Jerry Sandusky’s Wife Thinks He Was Railroaded
By John McDevitt
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (CBS) — The wife of former assistant Penn State football coach and convicted child abuser Jerry Sandusky maintains her husband is innocent of all charges.
Dottie Sandusky appeared on national television this morning to defend her husband of 37 years.
Appearing on NBC’s “Today” show, Dottie Sandusky told Matt Lauer that her husband is not a child molester.
(Lauer:) “Do you believe he was guilty of inappropriate behavior with some of these young boys?”
(Dottie Sandusky:) “I don’t believe that. I believe he showered with kids, and that’s the generation, you know, that Jerry grew up in.”
(Lauer:) “Why would young men who at some stage of their lives worshipped your husband, why would they say such terrible things about him and accuse him of these things?”
(Dottie Sandusky:) “I think they were manipulated and they saw money. And once lawyers came into the case, they said there was money.”
Mrs. Sandusky says she will fight for her husband’s innocence. She is hopeful that he will get a new trail and be freed from prison.
