PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police are searching for a suspect who was caught on tape robbing a donut shop in Philadelphia earlier this week.

The incident happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. Monday at the Dunkin’ Donuts located in the 5000 block of Rising Sun Avenue along the Roosevelt Boulevard.

WATCH: Surveillance Video

Surveillance video captured the suspect entering the store and leaping over the counter. Once behind the counter, the suspect rummaged through a cash register and took an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect then demanded an employee to open the other cash registers. When the employee refused to do so, the suspect jumped back over the counter and ran out of the store.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set black male, about 30-years-old with a beard. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, sweat pants, black and white sneakers and black or dark colored gloves. He had the lower part of his face covered with a black mask.

Anyone with any information on the suspect is asked to call 911 or 215.686.TIPS (8477).
