Watching Morning Temperatures

By Kathy Orr

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A cold front will cross our area Wednesday, bringing rain showers during the late morning through midday hours. There is the chance that if the rain moves in early enough, it could freeze on some surfaces where temperatures are below freezing.

A Freezing Rain Advisory has been issued for our Northern & Western Suburbs, the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos for a brief period of light freezing rain. Any frozen precipitation will change to rain by noon as temperatures warm. Rain will taper off in the afternoon.

High pressure will build in briefly Thursday, with some sun and highs in the upper 40's.

Thursday night, another warm front could bring a few showers, and then a cold front moves through early Friday with rain and thunderstorms, some with strong wind gusts.

Friday will be warm, with temperatures approaching 60. The mild air will continue into the weekend - we'll enjoy a very pleasant Saturday with sunshine and highs in the mid-50s.

Enjoy this break from the snow and harsh cold!
