PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – If you’re looking to escape the cold this weekend, a Pop up art market in Manayunk might just do the trick.

Handmade jewelry, original paintings, even socks made from alpaca fur can be found at the Philly Mart on Main Street in Manayunk.

Co-founder Renee Pedro says the goal here is pretty simple:

“Giving artists and small entrepreneurs a chance to sell their art.”

In all, there are 34 vendors, including Kristi Payton, who just sold a leather bracelet to a very happy customer, Eileen Falchetta:

“This is great,” Falchetta said. “I love seeing handmade products by local artists. It just means a lot more when I’m purchasing things that it’s made by someone by hand.”

The event continues Sunday, and organizers say they’re working out the details for a regular outdoor market for the spring and summer.
