Shelters Open Following Winter Storm
PHILADELPHIA (CBS)--If you are one of the hundreds of thousands who lost power during Wednesday's storm, the following shelters are now open and will remain open 24x7.
- Chester County residents needing shelter or a warming center, please go to the West Chester University: Sturzebecker Building
855 South New Street--This shelter is pet friendly - pets are being housed in a separate building from the human residents - cages and food will be available. - Lower Bucks Family YMCA: 601 S Oxford Valley Rd, Fairless Hills, PA 19030-allowing people to use its facility to shower, charge cell phones and warm up.
- Tire City: 2917 Veterans Highway Bristol, Pa. 19007--allowing people to use it as a warming station and to charge their electronics.
- Central Bucks YMCA: 2500 Lower State Rd, Doylestown, PA 18901--open to the community for anyone who needs showers, heat or charging. You do not need to be a member.
- Maple Point Middle School: 2250 Langhorne-Yardley Rd. Middletown Twp. Langhorne, Pa. 19047.
- Hatboro Horsham High School, 899 Horsham Road, Horsham. Pet friendly.
- West Chester University Fieldhouse, 855 S. New Street, West Chester. PET Shelter at Ehringer Gym, 700 S. Church Street.
- Council Rock High School North: 62 Swamp Road, Newtown, Pa. 18940: Shelter open until 4 p.m. today serving coffee & hot chocolate
- Tamanend Middle School: 1492 Stuckert Rd, Warrington (pet friendly)
- Northampton Township Senior Center: 165 Township Rd, Richboro
- Chalfont Fire Company: 301 N Main St, Chalfont
- Doylestown Township Municipal Building: 425 Wells Rd, Doylestown
