PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philly chef has taken home the “Top Chef” title.

Nicholas Elmi, formerly of Le Bec Fin and Rittenhouse Tavern, earned the grand prize in the season finale of the 11th season of “Top Chef,” which aired Wednesday, Feb. 5th.

Elmi joins the ranks of other “Top Chef” contestants from Philly, including Jennifer Carroll (10 Arts) and Jason Cichonski (Ela, Mica, La Croix). Chef Kevin Sbraga, of the newly-opened Fat Ham and super successful Sbraga, won Season 7 of the show as well.

This past fall, Elmi opened the French-American restaurant Laurel on East Passyunk Avenue. The BYOB spot is supposedly already booking tables two months in the future.
