Montgomery County Issues Disaster Declaration

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)–According to Montgomery County Chair Josh Shapiro, Montgomery County has issued a disaster declaration.

Shapiro says there have been at least 187,000 power outages which is now at or above Superstorm Sandy levels.

The Emergency Operations Center in Montgomery County is fully staffed and a second call center has been opened.

Shapiro says Montgomery County will still allow for emergency supplies immediately.

A winter storm on Wednesday caused hundreds of thousands of power outages in our area and PECO says it could be several days until power is fully restored. (see related story)
