Joel Embiid "Definitely Considering" A Return To Kansas

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Prior to the season, Andrew Wiggins was the consensus first overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. With over half of the season completed, it's Wiggins' Kansas teammate, Joel Embiid, who many say will go first overall.

Embiid may be throwing a wrench into that plan.

The Kansas freshman center told ESPN that he is "strongly considering" returning to Kansas for his sophomore year.

"I'm not even thinking about it right now," Embiid said. "I'll make a decision after the season, but I'm definitely considering coming back to school."

Embiid is still an unfinished product, having only played basketball for a few years. Still, his raw skills and athletic ability suggest a high upside, that ESPN's Chad Ford compared to former Rockets center Hakeem Olajuwon.

Regardless of what Embiid says now, the prospect of being the first overall pick may still very well be too much for Embiid to pass up.
