Mt. Laurel Woman Taking Her Bridegroom To Super Bowl With Windfall Tickets

By Justin Udo

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- Two very lucky Red Cross blood donors from New Jersey are on their way to Super Bowl XLVIII, and it's all thanks to an extensive donation campaign.

Between May of last year and January of this year, thousands of donors lined up at Red Cross "Super Blood Drives" to give blood.  And whenever they made a blood donation, they were entered to win one of two pairs of Super Bowl tickets.

Katie Wilkinson, from Mt. Laurel, NJ, won one pair of tickets for the big game -- which takes place just hours after her own big day.

"We were already getting ready for the wedding and freaking with that," she says.

And when she got the news that she won, she waited as long as she could until she could surprise her fiancé, Nick, with the good news.

"I wanted to tell him at the wedding, but I was afraid that would be too much and he wouldn't have time to pack for the cold weather," she said today.

So, Nick found today out in front of a podium at the press conference.

"I'm just speechless," he said.  "This is the last thing I expected today, and I couldn't be happier."

Paul Branagan, from Jersey City, won the second pair of tickets.  He's taking his son to the game.
