Police: Man Gets Naked After Crash In North Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A South Jersey man was arrested after a bizarre incident that involved a car crash and the disrobing of his clothes on a crowded Philadelphia street in broad daylight.

The incident happened at about 10:30 a.m. on January 27th at 5th Street and Lehigh Avenue in North Philadelphia.

According to investigators, the driver of a silver sedan crashed his near onto a curb in front of a Crown Fried Chicken business.

After crashing his car, police say the driver got out of the car and began removing his clothing. Witnesses told police that the male also began yelling "Jehovah's Witness."

The male stripped down to his birthday suit and at one point, police say he tried to drive away, but a bystander took his keys.

When police arrived, the suspect was taken into custody. The suspect, who has been identified as a 34-year-old male from Pennsauken, is facing charges of DUI.

There were no reports of any injuries.

The bizarre incident remains under police investigation.
