PHILADELPHIA (CBS)-- A South Jersey band which has earned a reputation as one of the top Beatles tribute acts in the country, with thousands of shows in 30-plus years, is preparing for a special performance and anniversary in Atlantic City next month.

The Mahoney Brothers will mark the 50th anniversary of The Beatles arrival in America and first performance on the Ed Sullivan Show on Saturday, Feb. 8 with "Long Live the Beatles: It was 50 Years Ago Today," at the Star Theater in Resorts Casino.

Tim Mahoney, who portrays Paul McCartney, says The Beatles music has had such a lasting impact on him, his brothers, and generations of fans.

"Their fan base is always growing and there's always an audience for an act like ours that can go out and perform their music in, hopefully, a very respectful way."

Brian Mahoney portrays John Lennon, youngest brother Mike Mahoney, takes center stage on the drums as Ringo Starr, and guitarist Jay Swanson is George Harrison.

Tim Mahoney says they share a love of playing and portraying The Beatles.
