Rash of Thefts Targeting Honda Wheels Hits New Castle County

NEWARK, Del., (CBS) – Some residents in New Castle County have been finding the wheels missing from their cars, and owners of newer model Hondas have been the targets.

During the past several weeks, County officers have responded to several thefts from residential neighborhoods and apartment complexes in the Newark, Bear, and Glasgow areas.  These thefts have also been occurring in the Kirkwood Highway corridor.

Police say the unknown suspects have been targeting newer model Honda Accords, Civics, and Fit vehicles.  The stolen wheels have been factory Honda alloy wheels.

Police are asking residents to report any suspicious individuals or vehicles they observe in the area of their residence or vehicles.

Police advise residents to park their vehicles in well-lit areas.
