Sixers Sign Dewayne Dedmon To 10-Day Contract

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)  – The Sixers have signed center Dewayne Dedmon to a 10-day contract, the team announced Tuesday.

The team can sign Dedmon to a second 10-day deal before deciding whether to sign him for the rest of the season. The Sixers have been down a big man since releasing Daniel Orton last week. Forward Arnett Moultrie's health has been improving, but is not yet ready to return.

The Sixerd also worked out big man Jarvis Dernando on Monday.

Dedmon, 24 years-old, is an undrafted rookie out of the University of Southern California. He appeared in four games for Golden State this year, playing a total of six minutes. In 15 starts for the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA D-League this season, Dedmon is averaging 15 points, a league-high 13.5 rebounds and over two blocks while shooting 54% from the floor.

In two seasons at USC, Dedmon averaged 7.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
