Nurse Attributes Pursuing A Ph.D. To Her Success As A Manager In Philadelphia

The pursuit of a nursing degree is growing everyday. The competition in the field is fierce, so a good education is crucial to land a good job and to be the best in the field. Continuing education will further your chances for landing your dream job and becoming an expert in nursing to climb the ladder quickly. That's just what Dr. Diane Spatz did to further her career as a nurse and a Ph.D.

What is your educational background?

"I received my BSN, MSN and Ph.D from University of Pennsylvania."

What is your background in management?

"I serve as the program manager for the Lactation Program at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I have four student interns whom I supervise. I am also responsible for the Clinical Supervisor of Lactation who in turn oversees four lactation consultant staff members."

How has your education fueled your management success?

"Penn Nursing prepares nurses to change the world. My Penn nursing education has greatly contributed to my success. I would encourage all nurses to pursue a PhD in Nursing. My Ph.D has allowed me to change clinical practice, not only in Philadelphia but around the world."
